Abstract

--- In the context of Big Data, one of the biggest data sources are metering devices called Smart Meters. Smart Meters are electronic instruments that measure and transmit consumption in real time, allowing statistical calculations to be made on this data. However, nowadays there have been hundreds, if not thousands, of different devices, with different operating logics and data formats. The problem of diversity has always been a big obstacle in the IT field and for this reason a system has been developed that allows the constant monitoring of entire fleets of Smart Meters of different origin, unifying the data in a single common format. Magus (Meters Aggregation Unified System) aims to be just such a system, a REST-API developed with Spring Boot in a network made of Docker containers allows a high versatility and compatibility with new types of smart meters.
