Abstract

----- Fighting inefficiencies and reducing customer satisfaction times are certainly objectives to pursue in today’s business environment. To reduce the gap between the required and actual delivery, a company must be able to access whether it is able to satisfy the customer lead time requested by the customer itself it is therefore necessary to trace the actual operational process of a company and to try to improve the skills of managing the resources to meet the expectations of the client. The objective of the thesis work carried out at Plastex SA is to identify and examine the critical issues that significantly expand the customer lead time and then propose valid solutions that improve company efficiency and reduce customer satisfaction time. By analyzing the processing flow of an order, it has been possible to identify these problems and classify then for selected priorities on which to act. This document was mainly dedicated to the study, development and implementation of a solution of criticality inherent to the vertical storage area. The analysis activity was carried out initially by studying the load units present in the vertical warehouse and the flow of the articles; subsequently, through the use of performance indicators, it has been possible to analyze in detail some load units. Thanks to the study carried out, it has been possible to propose a customized solution that aims to regulate and standardize operational processes and documentation to help reduce misunderstandings among staff, promote learning and increase reliability in production. Through the implementation test it was possible to verify the efficiency of the solution demonstrating the advantages obtained. In conclusion, Plastex SA is recommended to carry out the proposed actions, to improve the performance of the storage area and reduce non-value-added activities.
