Abstract

*** WODAR is an experimental project with the aim of carrying out a demonstrative application that uses and displays existing open data, exploiting the benefits of the integration of augmented reality (AR) and Linked Open Data (LOD) web technologies. In particular, this project is composed of three main blocks. 1.The first block represents the development of a collection and aggregation mechanism of the LOD data available on the web through API or query sparql. The data sources, represented by API or by sparql queries, are widely customizable through a interface that allows the addition, modification and removal of the same and the mapping of the resources returned with the underlying data structure, defined in the form of wPOI in tourist application field. 2.The second block is represented by the display of the data generated above through API. It is made parameterizable by the fact that it uses the endpoint in the background sparql generated by the d2rq software, which allows the API to behave like one query sparql with default endpoint. 3.The third block is the part that displays the data made available by the API. This part is composed of a web page that uses augmented reality, based on AR.js framework, to render virtual markers over images captured by camera of the device in use.
